Each one of us has our own Divine Navigation System within that is perfectly suited to each person. Throughout our lives, however, the mind and the ego have developed a habit to look outside of ourselves for the ‘right’ way to live our lives. This comes from an, often unconscious, motive to be accepted and validated by others. We learn to act in ways that please people and to adopt certain beliefs that we feel are acceptable. This ensures a sense of safety. It is also likely rooted in a base need to be loved. Many have come to believe somewhere along the way that who we are is not good enough.
As a result of this outward emphasis, we end up forfeiting our internal wisdom and Source Guidance. Since our thoughts are preoccupied with how others perceive us, then we act and speak in order to please others and fit in. Over time, we lose touch with our own voice and connection to our true Self.
Turning the mind inward and moving beyond beliefs, thoughts, shoulds and shouldn’ts is what keeps us true to our pure Soul’s expression. This is the goal of Ascension. Using this practice throughout the day and in closed-eyed meditation allow us to re-acquaint ourselves with our True Selves. It is a matter of re-training the mind. We may have developed the habit of over-valuing others’ opinions and judging ourselves. However, each time we use the Ascension practice, we form a new habit. As we release stress and expand our awareness, the desire to know ourselves and who we are becomes stronger than our need to get it right by others. The Ascension techniques effortlessly lead us there. With our choice, we can reverse the outward movement of the mind so that we are allowing the Divine Inner Wisdom to lead the way.
