There is a vast garden of spiritual knowledge available from Teachers, books, workshops, etc. from which to gain so much inspiration and guidance. And, in order to truly benefit and grow from our insights gained, it’s important to take this knowledge inward, to the Source, to discover the Truth of it within ourselves. It is so easy to be the seeker. But, if these pearls of findings are not integrated into personal self-knowledge and application in one’s daily life, they will fall by the wayside. As MSI writes in Ascension! (1996), “When followers hold rigidly to the words of their Teachers without sharing the experience of conscious absorption in the Ascendant, then confusion is inevitable. This is the tragedy of knowledge: to break into small shards on the hard rocks of ignorance.” (p. 74). It is therefore key to take what we have learned inward with the practice of Ascension and have our own direct experience.
Looking for spiritual guidance and inspiration in life is healthy and normal. And, when the heart sincerely desires growth and expansion, help will come. The Universe will provide what the heart desires in perfection and ease. However, when we do receive inspiration and wisdom, there is a risk that we externalize, distort or misinterpret it. We may try to emulate the giver in some way, think of the teaching imparted as some ideal, compare ourselves, or see it as just another rule to follow that we can’t live up to. Instead, we can remain flexible and let it take hold of us in our own unique way and express it through our own nervous system.
In reality, we don’t have to do anything except return to the Source, via the Ascension Attitudes. This is not a passive experience, but an empowered, personal choice. This is your personal relationship between you and the Ascendant, and that you must seek, find and know within yourself.
Teachers, guides and writers of pure consciousness can only point the way to our own hearts. In order to grow and benefit from these pearls of wisdom, we must prioritize our own Ascension practice. The more we seek on the inside, the more we will attract, cognize and move forward on our path of consciousness.
